Heartbeat series 2: DVD vs ITV broadcast

Just a short video I made showing the difference between the DVD version and ITV broadcast version of two episodes from series 2 of Heartbeat.

I've removed the audio and music to avoid copyright in case youtube flags it up. Apologies for the poor quality in the ITV recording as the tape has suffered badly over the years.

On the DVD release there have been cuts made for some reason. In episode 2, the scene of Mr Milner talking to the taxi driver has been cut. On the ITV broadcast the dialogue in this scene was:

Mr Milner: "where do people stay around here?"
Taxi driver: "there's the pub"
Mr Milner: "oh, it's abit noisy for me"
Taxi driver: "there's Mrs Tripp's B&B"
Mr Milner: "quiet is it?"
Taxi driver: "dead opposite the church"

In episode 9 on the ITV broadcast we see Susan walk up the steps of the old midwife's front door, it then cuts to the inside where we see her walk to the door and then open it where Susan says "I'm Susan" and then she asks Susan to come in. On the DVD version it cuts to the door already open and we don't hear Susan say "I'm Susan".

Anyone know why these episodes have been cut?. The DVD version of episode 2 uses a cover version of "She's Leaving Home", whilst the scene from episode 9 uses a cover version of the Beatles song "If I Fell" replacing The Beatles "Hey Jude" used in the ITV broadcast. The Britbox version is uncut and when the episodes have been shown on ITV3 recently they have also included the scenes. The DVD version from episode 2 we also don't hear any background audio like Mr Milner inhaling, the voice of the vicar when Mr Milner walks past, coughing and the sound of the steam train, but the TV broadcasts do.
