2014 Beluga Whale Hunt

In one of the oldest Arctic Inuit whaling communities, belugas came into the inlet. The community rallied together and hunted them in a feat that was impressive, amazing, thrilling, killing, humbling.. everything.. It was so glad to be witness to it.

In a traditional whaling community, whales of all kinds are hunted. This will sustain the people. 6 were caught in this particular hunt. It was amazing how people were butchering it, and others were coming with bags-- everyone who wants/needs some, got some. The community was so proud and happy they have traditional sustenance. Remember this isn't like what hogwash is shown on tv, and it isn't foreign markets taking the animal for one thing-- the animal is used, shared, consumed, appreciated, loved and renewable.

These whales would have LOVED Marineland!!
