Electrocution Tragedy: Company Fined

In this video, we cover the tragic news of a father-of-four, Levi Alleyne, who lost his life after being electrocuted while delivering crushed concrete at a construction site in Reading. On 16 November 2020, Levi's lorry crane came into contact with an 11kv overhead power line, causing a fatal electrical charge.

BBM Contracts Limited, the principal contractor, failed to ensure a safe delivery area, leading to this preventable accident. The company was fined £30,000 after pleading guilty to breaching safety regulations.

HSE Inspector Georgina Symons emphasized the importance of managing risks associated with overhead power lines to prevent such tragedies.
