A Visit to the Cocoa Farm of a 26-Year Old Ghanaian Medical Doctor Who Farms 15 Acres of Land

In our first video on Builders & Natives, we visit the cocoa farm of Dr. Benedict Kusi Ampofo, a 26-year old Ghanaian medical doctor who manages 30 acres of farmland at Bankame, a farming community in the Asante Akyem area in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Whiles a medical student, Dr. Ampofo used his personal savings and money from a student loan he took to acquire his first acre of land. Today he farms 15 acres of cocoa and manages an additional 15 acres of farmland of friends and partners.

From a humble beginning of acquiring his first acre in 2015, he has gradually grown his farm into a profitable venture, whiles adopting best practices to increase yield and income. We get to learn from him and discover how farming, and especially cocoa farming is an avenue worth exploring. Enjoy and share with every young person within your circle.
