Mixed Bag of Creepy + Boarding School Books | Thriller Reading Wrap-Up

Still on my thriller kick, and the theme this time around was creepy woods and cutthroat boarding schools. Several of the books were excellent case studies for YA vs. adult, as well--several had teen characters but were firmly adult books. What's the difference between an adult and a YA when both have teen characters? I'm discussing it.

Some notes on verbal mistakes!
1) At one point talking about Wilder Girls I say gun duty instead of boat duty! I mean boat duty
2) I say that if you set anything past the year 2000 you can't get away with teens not having cell phones... I'll revise that and say more like 2004/2005. (given I realized I graduated in 2002 and most people, myself included, didn't have phones, but that quickly changed)
