NSW in need of 'new leadership, new direction, new tone and new strategy': Alan Jones

Sky News host Alan Jones says the "total removal" of freedoms and subjugation of people by governments have reached "pandemic proportions".

Mr Jones made particular reference to the Berejiklian government and its "contradictory and alarmist talk".

"People are not prepared to cop the arrogance and disdain with which they are being treated," he said.

"The language of fear spills out of every utterance."

Mr Jones said the Berejiklian government continued "prospering fear and alarmism".

In a press conference on Wednesday Premier Berejiklian urged NSW residents not to visit older relatives such as grandparents as "that could be their death sentence".

"This is unconscionable and culpable alarmism," Mr Jones said.

"It might sound dramatic stuff, but the leadership has to change. There must be a new direction, a new tone and a new strategy."
