Daft Punk - Discovery (Shortened Album)

This is my written commentary on shortening the Discovery album by Daft Punk. It's one of my favorite albums, but sometimes many of the songs can get too repetitive. Original run time for the album is 61 minutes. So, I've taken the liberty to criticize the album by showing an example of what could have been done instead. It is to note that what I have done is shorten most of the songs without compromising (in my opinion) the best bits and added small twists. For example, many tracks in the Discovery album rely on repeating the same 32 (and sometimes more) beat segments that repeat the same measures sometimes up to 8 or 12 times. This is too long for my personal taste and would prefer a 8 or even 4 repeated measures in a segment as it allows for the introduction of newer segments of the song faster. Such is the case with the original introduction of the song One More Time. There are a total of 8 measures in the first segment, and the segment is then repeated once more for a total of 64 beats before the vocals kick in. This same segment is then present throughout most of the song with little variation. To counter this, I am cutting the segments that are being repeated while in other songs outright cutting out entire sections and mixing them up with specific segments to create some diversity. I'm not saying that this is the final form that everyone should enjoy or am I profiting off of this, but instead providing new ideas regarding older pieces of work as a small critique.
