"Be Opened" – God Works When You Step Away from the Noise | Daily Gospel Reflection | Feb 13, 2026
What if the breakthrough you've been praying for can't happen until you step away from the distractions? In today's Gospel from Mark 7:31-37, Jesus takes a deaf man away from the crowd before healing him. This wasn't about isolation—it was about intention. God often removes us from the noise so we can truly encounter His power. If you've been waiting for answers while surrounded by chaos, this is your sign: create space, pull away, and let God work.
Then Jesus speaks one powerful word: "Ephphatha—Be opened." And everything changes instantly. What's closed in your life right now? Your heart? Your opportunities? Your hope? Jesus is still speaking that same command over you today. Let this reflection remind you that God can open what feels permanently shut. And when He does, don't stay silent—your testimony could be the hope someone else desperately needs.
Take 60 seconds today to reflect, breathe, and believe again. Jesus makes all things well.

TODAY'S GOSPEL READING:
Mark 7:31-37
Jesus left the district of Tyre and went by way of Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, into the district of the Decapolis. And people brought to him a deaf man who had a speech impediment and begged him to lay his hand on him. He took him off by himself away from the crowd. He put his finger into the man's ears and, spitting, touched his tongue; then he looked up to heaven and groaned, and said to him, "Ephphatha!" (that is, "Be opened!") And immediately the man's ears were opened, his speech impediment was removed, and he spoke plainly. He ordered them not to tell anyone. But the more he ordered them not to, the more they proclaimed it. They were exceededly astonished and they said, "He has done all things well. He makes the deaf hear and the mute speak."
