How to Upright an Overturned Truck--"Executive Summary Version"

OK, I understand. Yesterday's truck rollover & recovery video was "TLDW". You'll like this one better since it skips the mundane tasks and emphasizes the highlights of how the professionals righted a large truck that was on its side, diagonally across both lanes of a mountain road. Complicating the recovery was a power pole next to where the cab landed and soft shoulders on both roadsides.

If you have a pair of million-dollar rotating crane wreckers and don't know how to use them... well, that isn't very likely, is it. For the rest of us, this was a pretty good show. Maybe this was not an easy way, maybe not a fast way (it took almost 5 hours), but this was a way. A good way. As you will see...

It was a beautiful, sunny, and warm winter day. Drivers were hauling decomposed granite from a quarry up a mountain road to a job site. One driver wasn't up to the task and he flipped his truck--diagonally across both lanes, shutting down the road for five hours. Two wreckers responded and set up in a "push me-pull you" formation, lifting then slowly rotating the truck back onto its wheels. Amazing to me was the very little bowing of the wrecker cranes as the truck was lifted. These are awesome beasts.
