Description: The year was 1937. This was the first truck ever (a 1926 Mack Bulldog) purchased for the U.S. Land Management Survey Department. It was a former US Army gasoline truck on surplus status. The survey team senior manager, John Egnaro, needed a water tanker to help with the dusty roads all over South Dakota at that time. He bid $5.50 for it and got it. It was then converted to a water tanker. Water sprayers were added front and back. This helped where the dust just settled on everything on a project site.
