This requires no burrow and leaves almost no trace. Raptors hunting open desert rely on visual lock — once the target vanishes, the strike aborts. The lizard's camouflage matches desert sand precisely, making resurfacing equally invisible. Disappearing is faster than running.

The desert gave this lizard no weapons. So it became the sand itself.
