Design

Every feature of the design works incredibly hard in increasing its aerodynamics in order to increase its range efficiency.
The hood scoop is a great example of this. Air comes in through the large grill, out through the scoop, up over the roof and down through the rear spoiler. It’s so efficient, the rear glass wiper isn’t fitted.
In the rear, the spoiler and diffuser help to extend the car’s range, as well. There are no tailpipes and no emission. It’s clean, simple and intelligent.

Charging

Charing the I-PACE couldn’t be simpler. The 32-amp AC wall box, which can be fitted at home, takes approximately 13 hours to charge from 0 to 100%, offering about 240 miles of range.
There also are AC destination chargers found at local shopping centers, hotels, gyms and other desirable destinations. There also is a comprehensive network of DC charging stations at rest areas and larger gas stations. A typical 50 kw DC rapid charger can achieve 0 to 80% charge in 85 minutes.

Interior

The I-PACE interior is bathed in natural light through the full length panoramic glass roof, which helps keep cabin temperature optimized. This creates less reliance on climate control systems, which in turn conserves battery range.
The Touch Pro Duo system comes with additional features in the I-PACE. The 10-inch touch screen serves as a home for navigation, media and phone connectivity. The lower 5.5-inch screen comes with tactile, multi-functional dials for features like climate control and heated and cooled seating.
The standard interactive driver display also is customizable, enabling drivers to display their desired information ranging from navigation maps to the speedometer.
The EV navigation system offers accurate range predictions, providing information specific to your I-PACE and driving style. The system also features route options based on the car’s remaining charge and calls out available charging stations along the way.
To save battery power and optimize range capability, the I-PACE Eco mode modifies settings like climate, audio volume and accelerator response.
Software over-the-air wireless updates are available to ensure I-PACE owners have access to the latest software, which means the car is constantly updating itself.

Performance

Jaguar uses the same permanent magnet synchronous motors for their formula E race cars as the I-PACE, helping the 394-horsepower I-PACE go 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds with 512 ft lbs of immediate torque.
The performance is due in part to the battery position, which is situated low between the two axles, giving it near 50/50 front-rear weight distribution.
The standard active electronic air suspension automatically lowers the car’s ride height and speed to reduce drag.
The optional Adaptive Dynamics with Configurable Dynamics delivers real-time ride adjustment to optimize the balance between comfort, refinement and agility.

Key Features and In-Car Technology

Using the InControl remote app on their smartphones, I-PACE owners can remotely access their car’s battery level, charging rate and estimated range.
Once in the I-PACE, drivers and passengers alike can enjoy reduced cabin noise as the result of the vehicle’s acoustic laminated glass, which can make for a very relaxing journey.
On the other end of the spectrum, Jaguar has introduced engine accelerator noise from the car’s loud speakers to offer a real sense of power during acceleration. At higher speeds, the pitch and tone gets edgier to serve as a reminder of Jaguar’s true performance heritage.
Another intelligent technology found in the I-PACE is enhanced brake regeneration. This uses the kinetic energy of braking to recharge the battery. Through the touchscreen, drivers can raise the level of regenerative braking. The corresponding increase in deceleration there means that, in stop-and-go traffic, drivers have far greater control of their speed using only the throttle, making driving in heavy traffic a whole lot easier.

There are all the hallmarks of a Jaguar—design, luxury and performance character. But the I-PACE is the evolution of those qualities to the next level.
