“Afghanistan by Afghans” is a conversation series that aim to tell multi-layered stories about Afghanistan and Afghans that aren’t covered in mass media. Hosted by Afghan-American filmmaker Misaq Kazimi, the series aims to be a bridge between Afghans and those interested in the first-hand and lived experiences of Afghan people!

Tahmina Aziz is currently a multimedia journalist with CHEK News. Before moving to Victoria, she worked as a video journalist at CBC in Windsor, Ontario, and an associate producer at CBC News Network in Toronto, Ontario. Her coverage of stories has been aired nationally on CBC News Network and World Report. Tahmina graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree (High Distinction), majoring in Psychology, and received her diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Seneca@York with High Honours.
