Basic Wallet Tutorial
This is a basic wallet with a slot for cards and bills, as well as a zipped pocket that creates two different compartments for extra storage.
It is ideal to make as gift or to use while on holiday when you do not need to carry too many things.
Materials:
- Main fabric (for the outside of the wallet)
1 rectangle : 7 1/2" x 11 3/4" (19cm x 30cm)

Lining fabric
- 1 rectangle: 7 1/2" x 15 1/4" (19cm x 38.7cm)
Pouch with zipper:
- 2 pieces of fabric for the outside AND 2 pieces for the lining, ALL 4 measuring : 6 7/8" x 4" (17.5cm x10cm).
For the side panels (concertina):
- 4 squares: 4" x 4" (10cm x 10cm)
For end of zipper tabs:
- 4 pieces 1 3/4" x 2" (4.5cm x 5cm)
+ Enough fusible interfacing for the outside of the wallet (I used fusible fleece).
+ Firm fusible interfacing for the lining fabric, THIS IS OPTIONAL.
- 1 zipper longer than 7" (18cm)
- 1 set magnetic snaps
SEAM ALLOWANCE: 1/4" (0.5 cm).
