Pep Guardiola: ‘Haaland is on Ronaldo and Messi's level’

Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Erling Haaland on Saturday (8th April) after the forward scored his 44th goal of the season - equalling the record for the most scored by a Premier League player in a single campaign.

A 4-1 win over Southampton saw Manchester City remain second in the table, five points behind leaders Arsenal.

But as ever, it will be Haaland - who scored twice - who is likely to capture the headlines.

Guardiola likened him to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but was clear that it will take a lot to emulate their remarkable longevity.
