Few would dispute the fact that when it comes to Chennai’s most popular vegetarian destination, Sangeetha Veg Restaurants seems to rule the hearts and palates of this city’s denizens. During my visits to Chennai, I’ve had the opportunity to dine at a few of their branches, and have always returned impressed with the consistent quality of the fare served, whether at an outpost on the outskirts of the city or in the heart of town. In this episode, I meet the affable father-daughter duo of Mr. P. Suresh and Sanjana Suresh at their flagship Sangeetha Veg restaurant in Adyar, and discover an interesting legacy and industrious work ethic that has over the years sought to embrace various Indian culinary influences and traditions to create an unique identity for the food that is served here, that I savour in a delicious breakfast of elai adai, chikkoo kesari, ven pongal, kasi halwa, rava dosai and some more.
