English Professor on UCLA Alum Carlos Castaneda

Kenneth Lincoln, an English professor at UCLA and a founder of American Indian studies at UCLA, discusses Carlos Castaneda's "The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge" and "Journey To Ixtlan," which were both written while he was a graduate student at UCLA in the 1960s. The University of California Press last year issued a commemorative edition celebrating the 30th anniversary of "The Teachings of Don Juan." Castaneda's works helped define the 1960s and usher in the New Age movement. Lincoln is an expert in American Indian fiction at UCLA.
