Circulator Pump Cartridge Replacement

Before replacing disconnect the electric, drop the system pressure and let everything cool, then drain down the system or isolate the circulator.

First, remove the body bolts from the pump.

Then, separate the motor assembly from the body of the pump.

Next, pull the cartridge out of the motor housing.

Install the correct replacement cartridge making sure that the cover plate is between the cartridge flange and the motor.

Replace the old gasket with the new one if needed.

Finally reassemble the circulator using the new screws if necessary.

The system must be filled before operating the circulator. Filling the system will result in immediate lubrication of the bearings. It is always good practice to flush the system of foreign matter before starting the circulator. Operate the circulator for ten minutes immediately after filling the system to purge remaining air from the bearing chamber. This is especially important when installing the circulator during the off season.
