5 Tips I Wish I Knew Before Setting Up My Power Rack | Home Gym

I've tried various power racks - Rep Fitness PR4000, PR5000, Rogue RML-390F, and Rogue Monster RM6. These are the 5 tips I wish I knew before setting up any of these power racks for my home.

1. Plan your setup - know the dimensions of your lifting area and the dimensions of the equipment you're going to use. Factor in headspace if you're doing pull ups and if you're going to put some kind of flooring and/or platform with your rack.
2. Flooring - horse stall mats.
3. Socket Wrench or impact drill
4. Check the uprights - the feet of the base and the numbering. Figure out which way you want them to face.
5. 6 post rack - build the back half first so you can move the rack into your desired position easier.

This is the socket wrench I used for the 5/8" hardware for Rogue Monster Lite or Rep Fitness PR4000:

I used this socket bit for the 1" hardware for Rogue Monster

I tried a 36mm impact drill bit for 1" Rogue Monster hardware but it was too small. I think this 38mm would work:
