Back-to-School 2025 | Ways to save on shopping, giveaway events in Central Georgia

As students across Central Georgia prepare to head back to class, many parents are already on the hunt for school supplies, trying to budget for everything from backpacks to shoes, while facing rising prices.

Nearly all school districts in the region post supply lists on their websites, including Bibb County Schools and Houston County Schools. However, local shoppers said checking off those lists without breaking the bank requires strategy.

"I'm looking for all kinds of stuff," one parent said while browsing the aisles.

Allison Pierce, who said her daughter is starting Pre-K, is shopping around to find the best deals.

"I'm looking for school supplies, a backpack, looking for clothes and actually I buy stuff here at Walmart. I also do the consignments in the area," Pierce said.
