Here's the story of the first lesbian marriage which occured in Spain in 1901.
Two women, Elisa Sanchez Loriga and Marcela Gracia Ibeas, attempted to get married for better and for worse… To achieve it, Elisa had to adopt a male identity : Mario Sanchez. However, the deception was discovered and, consequently, they were persecuted. But they resisted and the marriage certificate was never annulled.
