Covid-19 Spreading: An Eigenvalue Viewpoint
Title: Covid-19 Spreading: An Eigenvalue Viewpoint
Speaker: Haowei (Alice) Chen
Date/Time: Friday, October 29th, 2:00pm
Abstract: How will a virus propagate? How long does it take to disinfect given infection rate and virus death rate? What is the best node to immunize? We answer these questions by developing a nonlinear dynamical system that models viral propagation in any arbitrary network and also a general epidemic threshold is proposed: the inverse of the largest eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix.
