Keith Urban, 'Blue Bayou' live in Nashville

Keith Urban was ten when Linda Ronstadt sent “Blue Bayou,” a Roy Orbison and Joe Melson-penned study of longing, to the top of the pop and country charts. Four decades later, Urban's connection to her emotive delivery still lingered.

He underlined his admiration at the 2020 All for the Hall concert in Nashville, benefiting the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The show's "Under the Influence" theme invited performers to pair their own songs with selections from other artists that inspired their musical development.

"For me," Urban said, introducing his own take on "Blue Bayou," "the definitive version is always gonna be Linda's."
