Leveraging & sustaining the initial enthusiasm of students in planning ahead to be ever-ready enables the learning process to be far more efficient. Further aiding such efficiency is our small class size, which is an extremely rare privilege these days for all of us. Hence, we’ll take the fullest advantage of this golden opportunity. 

The syllabus for AE3140 is the standard that’s on the Georgia Tech portals. Nonetheless, we’ll explore it far more innovatively to not only render ourselves ready for the rapidly-evolving aerospace industry employment scenarios (influenced by AI, large language models & prompt engineering) but, more importantly, to enjoy learning together so much so that the students will be thirsty for other structures-related courses & electives in future semesters. This can happen much better collaboratively rather than competitively. A student’s only competition in this course will be with his/her own past. 

Hence, the assessment pattern will also be conducive to the above vision. Integral part of the learning package are very short homework modules at the end of some of the classes, due in exactly a week, to be worked out together as a group, leveraging any relevant resources available/accessible to registered GT students (including soft copies of books from GT library via VPN, internet sources, apps &, most significantly, GPT-4o, Gemini, Krutrim, Hanooman & other such LLMs!) & interactively presented at the beginning of the very next class as a team, with instantaneous feedback for better understanding & improvised future assignments. Quintessentially, the assessment will be an integral part of OUR learning process, not just YOURS! This is explained in more detail in this very first video of this series.
