An extended look at the long gone berghof mansion, Hitlers southern base.

The house Hitler built, partly off his Mein Kampf income, consisted of a large villa on the hillside above Berchtesgaden. As Hitler's reign continued into the late 1930's, the whole Obersalzberg became a Nazi stronghold with all the properties taken over by Hitlers right hand men including Hermann Göring and Albert Speer.

In my first visit I misunderstand the set up. The retaining wall built into the slope behind the mansion is very easy to find but on my second visit I take a more thorough look at the remaining brickwork of the house and terrace area of the berghof.
