After Humanity's brush with extinction during the Earthsiege, the people of Earth begin to slump into despair and turn away from
technology. Almost single-handedly, Petresun would drag humanity out of the pit and forge "The Great Human Empire" to fight the Cybrids for when they would inevitably return.
