5 grip strength exercices

Stronger grip means better control and power for lifts, carries, and pull-ups. Here are 5 moves that’ll get your hands ready:

1. Farmer’s Carries
Carry heavy weights in each hand and walk. Builds crushing grip strength and grip endurance — just like carrying heavy objects in real life.

2. Dead Hangs
Hang from a bar for time. Strengthens your finger and hand endurance for pull-ups, rope climbs, and obstacle course holds.

3. Plate Pinches
Hold two weight plates together using just your fingers. Great for pinch grip strength, which helps when you need to grab and hold small or awkward objects.

4. Towel Rows
Wrap a towel around a bar and pull yourself up or row. The towel forces your hands to grip harder, improving forearm and hand strength simultaneously.

5. Thick Bar or Fat Grip Training
Using thick handles or fat grips challenges your fingers and forearms more than regular bars. This builds overall hand strength, making all your lifts and carries feel easier.
