Manu-o-K ū or White (Fairy) Tern Chick (few hours old)

My husband and I enjoyed the Tern Walk today. At our last stop, Rich Downs took us to the International Market Place to show us a Fairy Tern sitting on an egg. Much to our surprise, the egg had hatched sometime within the last 24 hours (very recently). In this video, you will see the mama Tern preening the chick trying to get the remaining egg shell and other matter off of him/her. So amazing to watch them...how lucky we were!
