This super-clean 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS came to the V8 Speed & Resto Shop with a bad lobe on the camshaft, and the V8 team brought it back around with a new 400 cubic inch roller cammed small block Chevy engine from Blueprint Engines. The new engine makes over 450 horsepower and runs really strong. It’s fueled by a FAST EZ-EFI system, spins a built 2004R automatic overdrive transmission and a Moser 31 spline 12-bolt rear. These performance upgrades work on any of the 1980s Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS platforms, weather you have a 1987 Monte Carlo SS or a 6-cylinder 1978 Monte Carlo, the first year they came out with this G-body style.
