Chinese Chainsaw, after 18 months use.
This is a quick look at the cheapest Chinese saw with cheapest chain I could find and was purchased last year. I needed to cut up a dead Silver Birch, so I've used this opportunity to show this 52cc 18 inch bar saw, working after 18 months use. The saw cost £56 and the chain about £5 and cut this hardwood tree for firewood with very little effort on my part. Despite being cut into short slices, it was still difficult to split with an axe and the largest ones at the base had to be cut again into blocks. Silver Birch makes excellent sweet smelling and steady burning firewood. See also, "Cutting Willow for firewood," https://youtu.be/x1Um6ZChKU4 . Update 24/10/2019: 2years on and she's still going strong, with no problems and a check on Ebay, shows these saws to be available from around £50 to £65. Here is the next, 4 year appraisal. https://youtu.be/7hkdVDlOnNQ..
