BJP Brands CM Mamata as 'Chunavi Hindu', but Didi chants 'Chandi Mantra'? | The Newshour Debate

On The Newshour Debate today, Navika Kumar discusses the political war which is raging in the State of West Bengal ahead of the Assembly Elections. BJP has brought the Batla House Case in the Bengal battleground and slammed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for doubting the Batla strike. BJP further dared her to slam Islamist terrorists.

CM Mamata Banerjee, on the other hand, countered these allegations by saying ‘I am a Hindu too’.  Reciting Chandi Path in Nandigram, CM Mamata further added ‘I do not put money into people's pockets to get votes. I do politics with the good wishes of people. On 1st of April do an April fool of them’.

Author Anand Ranganathan says that ‘CM Mamata Banerjee is now really worried because her Muslim vote is also going to be split & perhaps shared by other communal parties’. While TMC Spokesperson Riju Dutta says that ‘The Central Government has lost all trust from the people’.
