In this clip, Faizon Love continued to discuss the Jay-Z situation, explaining why he doesn’t think Jay was the drug lord he portrayed himself to be and how those close to him at the time virtually confirm it. Faizon spoke specifically about how detrimental the drug lord persona has been to the point that contemporary rappers believe they need to have a drug-dealing past and a record of violence to gain any respect. He pointed out how iconic rappers such as 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, and Eazy E never promoted drug dealing in their music.
