I spoke before Mascotte City Council and called for the termination of Police Chief Eric Pedersen.

I travelled to the City of Mascotte Florida City Council meeting (10/07/25) to hold their Police Chief and department accountable for the hiring of Ofc. Sean Rollins who was terminated, per his training history records obtained from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, for four uses of force incidents that were deemed either excessive or unnecessary. Because of their negligent hiring the City of Mascotte is being sued by Councilwoman Hughe's husband for allegations of police brutality. Weeks after that encounter, Ofc. Rollins applies and is hired by Palm Bay Police Department while I was the Deputy Chief (now retired). The background officer never disclosed his prior history to command staff when advocating for his hiring. He is still employed by Palm Bay Police even though multiple new outlets have reported his past history, and allegations that he failed to disclose his termination and complaints on his Palm Bay applications. Since last night I have spoken to Mascotte city employees that indicated the City Manager and Police Chief were aware of Ofc. Rollins' background when they hired him and suggested that Stephanie Abrams, (human resources and city clerk) did her due diligence to stop his hiring but her persistence was ignored.
