Dog at Harrisburg shelter is to be euthanized, to volunteers' surprise
Pursuit, a 4-year-old American bulldog mix, is the longest serving canine resident at the Humane Society in Harrisburg. Shelter officials announced they were putting Pursuit on death row, with his execution, or euthanasia, set for Monday Feb. 13. Shelter officials cited his “unpredictability” and “multiple incidents.” Volunteers who have worked closely with Pursuit are pushing the shelter to offer the dog training or allow him to be placed with a volunteer or another shelter before killing him.
