World’s Smallest Record Player! The Ghostly Record Runner aka the Soundwagon, a Japanese gadget that has existed since 1976 and I had no idea about it. It was originally created in a Sony internal employee contest meant to encourage unconventional thinking. In 2014, it was improved by Stokyo, the brand that currently makes these.

This portable record player is impressive. You place it on a vinyl record and it starts driving around the groves, playing music. The built-in speaker is surprisingly loud for its size, and it also Bluetooth, so you can stream your record to an external speaker.

But you have to be very careful with this device. The instructions warn about the needle possibly scratching the record if it’s not placed correctly. So you definitely don’t want to use this with your more rare records. Overall, this is definitely a novelty gadget item.
