How to Read Your Cervical MRI (Part I of 2): A Deep Dive Into How to Read Your Cervical MRI.

Warning: there are some cadaver images in the "understanding body planes" section of this video. If you're sensitive, please don't watch that section.

In this video (Part 1 of 2), I will teach you how to read your cervical MRI and CT scan by first learning body planes, then cervical osteology, a little neurology, and then understanding what an MRI is. We will also talk about cuts, series, and the difference between T2 weighting and T1 waiting. I will also teach you about the cut line. We will briefly talk about cervical disc herniations, stenosis, and Tarlov cyst's (but pathology is not the focus of this video).

If you can master this the contents of this video, you will easily be able to understand what you're looking at on a real MRI and be well prepared when you talk to your spine care specialist about your MRI results. There will be a follow-up video which shows me going over my cervical MRI and explaining how to use Onis 2.5 (a most excellent free DICOM viewing software).
