HIKING IN SERBIA - Adventures across villages and the Stara Planina mountains

Arriving in Serbia on November 22nd meant discovering the country during the wet season when the days are almost the shortest of the year. Honestly, we did not put all the chances on the side of Serbia to seduce us. Gray sky, plucked trees, night at 4:30 PM and mud from beginning to end... But you know us, we decided to make the most out of it anyway!
The beautiful Rosomac canyon, near Slavinja, has been a great surprise. The huge lake Zavojsko was a bit depopulated but we enjoyed our quiet night on its shore. Climbing the Babin Zub mountain definitely worth the effort, especially because of the incredible view we got from up there. The last natural highlight we got to see is the Vodopad Bigar; this succession of waterfalls and ponds in the bed of a river.
In Serbia, the situation is the same as in the rest of Europe: abandoned houses, dying villages and large cities overflowing, but our efforts paid and we got to make great encounters anyway!
