The Ontario government won’t split up Peel Region after all

Premier Doug Ford's government is backpedaling on its decision to dissolve Peel Region less than a year after it was announced. The legislation would have let the province dissolve the region, turning the cities of Mississauga and Brampton and the Town of Caledon into standalone cities.
