8 Week Pregnant - What to Expect?

At 8 weeks, you are on the verge of completing two-thirds of your first trimester. Watch this video to find out the developmental milestones of your baby, the common body changes, and the tips you can follow to care for yourself in this week.

You will be able to hear your baby’s heartbeat for the first time during the 8th week ultrasound scan. Even though your baby is still very tiny, you will find a substantial amount of progress by this time. Your breasts, the uterus will be growing and also the blood supply towards the breasts will be increased.

The common issues that you may face in this week are frequent urination, abdominal cramping, pigmentation, and varicose veins. Moreover, your hormones will be doing some wild things, giving you a superhuman-like smelling sense and making your stomach do belly dancing. You may get some weird dreams too. Your belly will be showing a little or not showing at all-around week 8 but if you are carrying twins, your belly may show by this time.

Also, you might have your first prenatal appointment. Some to-be-moms may experience certain pregnancy symptoms around week 8, while some don't experience any symptoms at all which is perfectly normal too.
