Distillation Column Control

This video is on “Distillation Column Control“. The target audience for this course is chemical and process engineers as well as chemical engineering students.

Distillation process is energy driven separation process. There are several variables that determine the performance of the distillation column. We can call it a multivariable operation. It is the most instrumented and monitored separation process. Distillation process varies from a simple distillation to complex multi-component distillation employing various heat-integrated technologies for energy optimization. The more complex the process the more difficult it is to control the process. What are the variables that are used to control the distillation column? How does one decide on the right control strategy to ensure that the variables are maintained at the desired values? The video focuses on all these aspects. Watch the video to know more.
