RIDE SUMMARY: This video covers the 35 days I spent riding between the towns of Derby and Kununurra in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Because of the area's remoteness (there was only one open petrol station between the two towns) I had to make sure I was self-sufficient with regards to food and water. Accordingly, I had packages of dehydrated food delivered by aeroplane to strategic locations and I collected water from rivers and creeks. The Gibb River Road is described as an epic 4WD challenge. To get through it unsupported on a bicycle, while visiting the sites along the way, remains one of the biggest challenges I have faced on my bike trip, and one of the most rewarding.
