IDEMIA Public Security and Indicio Verifiable Credentials for Financial Services

This demo shows what onboarding looks like when it takes seconds instead of minutes. A customer verifies their identity once, and that verification works across multiple services and partners without repeating the process. For the business, that means faster account opening, lower drop-off rates, and a better first impression. Fraud risk drops significantly because every verification combines government-issued document authentication with a live biometric match. And because the architecture is decentralized, there is no centralized personal data store to protect or worry about getting breached. The customer holds their own verified credential. The business never has to be the custodian of sensitive identity data.

Everything in this demo is built on open standards: W3C Verifiable Credentials, mdoc/mDL, and OID4VCI/OID4VP for credential issuance and presentation. IDEMIA Public Security handles the document verification and biometric matching layer, so your team does not need to build or maintain that infrastructure. Holdr+ is an example of a wallet built using Indicio’s Holdr SDK. Financial institutions can use the SDK to integrate wallet functionality into their own new or existing applications rather than depending on a third-party app. The underlying architecture is decentralized, which means there is no single point of failure for identity data and no centralized honeypot to defend.

Every time the credential is shared in this demo, the user explicitly consents. The app shows exactly what data is being shared and requires active approval before anything is transmitted. That consent-based flow creates an auditable verification trail that compliance teams can rely on. Privacy is preserved by architecture, not just by policy. The user controls their data, the verifying party receives only what they need, and nothing is stored in a central repository. This model aligns directly with KYC and AML requirements because each credential is tied to a verified, reusable identity that can be presented to any participating service without re-verification.
