ZOLA the Breakdancing Western Lowland Gorilla!

You may remember Zola the gorilla when he was a youngster from the viral video of him breakdancing at The Calgary Zoo, as part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Gorilla Species Survival Plan.

Watch Zola demonstrate play behaviours as he dances during a swimming pool enrichment session off habitat.

Enrichment helps enhance the environment and lives of animals, like Zola, by providing them with mental and physical stimulation to increase natural behaviors. Enrichment can take many forms, but for this spunky great ape, it means spinning in his favorite blue pool!
