Essential Tips and Tricks for New Forklift Operators #forklift #factory #warehouse #heliforklift
Being a forklift operator is not just about driving a machine; it is about precision and spatial awareness. For a beginner, the key is building the right habits from day one to ensure efficiency and safety.
Center of Gravity:
Always keep the load's center of gravity within the triangle formed by the two front wheels and the center of the rear axle.
Cornering Speed:
Never turn sharply while carrying a high load or traveling at high speeds. This is the number one cause of tip-overs.
Tilt Angle:
When traveling, always tilt the mast slightly back so the load "locks" against the backrest.
Safe Height:
Keep the forks about 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) off the floor while moving. Never drive with a high-lifted load.
Obstructed View:
Drive in Reverse! If the load is too high and blocks your forward vision, travel in reverse while looking in the direction of travel.
A great operator isn't the fastest; they are the most consistent and safe until the end of the shift.
