For our family holiday this year, we took a four-hour flight to Gran Canaria to spend a week at TUI's Family Life Orquidea Hotel, Bahir Felix, Gran Canaria between 22nd-29th June 2019. We simply had an amazing time.

For entertainment; it is second to none with the team all working tirelessly to make your stay a great one. Just awesome!

Restaurant food was also exceptional. The catered very well for vegetarians. Naturally, we didn't film the restaurant or people eating but do take our word for it; there is plenty to choose from including 'chocolate pizza' which was popular with our boys! They really do think of everything.

We upgraded our room to a Junior Suite; we always prefer a separate bedroom while the boys are getting to sleep (and we have a peaceful start to the day!).

There is a beach nearby but not part of the complex. The sunbeds are available for hire.

Before we left, we became aware that Gran Canaria has some spectacular scenery so we booked a day's car hire for €18 through Argus Car Hire and excess insurance (£1.83 with Big Blue) five weeks in advance. All that was then payable at the desk was €10 for two booster seats and top up the tank at the end of the day. We arranged through Argus Car Hire to pick up the car at the local Orlando Car Hire agent opposite the hotel.
