How to install Autobeam LED Boot Panel Unit into your MK3 Ford Focus!

This is the latest boot light upgrade from Autobeam for the MK3 Ford Focus (including ST RS and many more!) and can be used to replace a single light or 2 lights depending on the configuration of your Ford Focus MK3 or indeed can be used in resolving the issue of needing a second boot/trunk light in your Focus RS (or other Ford cars?) because Ford decided not to put one in the right hand side after a certain date in 2017 in order to save costs.

The new Autobeam LED Boot Panel Unit acts a full replacement for the old 501 bulb inside the Ford OEM housing and incorporates a full length LED panel. The benefits of this are easier and faster installation and better, brighter light output from not wasting light being shone behind the housing but rather having all LEDs pointing outward!

This video shows the new Autobeam units as well as how to get them installed - there is just one simple tool needed in order to get this awesome boot / trunk light upgrade into your MK3 Ford Focus!

I believe that it was in 2017 to the end of production that Ford decided to save money by not adding the wiring and the second boot/trunk light, so if you have an older 2016 you should have 2 lights already and indeed all other models of MK3 Ford Focus that I have seen also have 2 so the first thing you need to do is to check what you need/want and then order either one or 2 of the new units.

If like me you have only one light on one side, I found that while the bulb replacement from Autobeam installed on one side is a definite improvement over stock, if using the boot/trunk to transport things that are in any way tall or stack up, it still blocks the light from getting to the other side of the boot/trunk, which is especially inconvenient at night!
