Mega yacht Project STAR - top view .Lobanov Design and BMT Nigel Gee unveil 132m motor yacht Project STAR ($500 Million)

Called the STAR this new super-yacht is not your traditional looking yacht. Not only does it measure at 433 feet long and almost 200 feet high, it looks like a iceberg floating in the water. Created in collaboration with BMT Group and Alex Malybaev designer Ignor Lobanov started the project to redefine luxury yachts. And they did just that.

Igor Lobanov tells how the project came about, “The initial idea of the Star belongs to Alex Malybaev from FIRMA branding agency. Alex and I exchanged some thoughts about yachting and came to the conclusion that to those outside the marine industry, all yachts look the same: It seems that modern architecture, product design and car design have no influence on yachts. Malybaev penned an idea “on a napkin” and asked me if a yacht could be like that. I looked at the sketch and set to work. The idea was so great that I wanted to prove it could become a yacht.”

The vessel has been designed with a maximum speed of 18+kts and with a range at 14kts of 5000+NM. Over 3500 sq.m of luxury interior space is provided. The STAR has been developed as a private yacht and can host up to 200 day guests and 36 overnight guests. It also has a helipad, an underwater viewing deck, and four elevators providing access to the boat’s eight decks.

But this remarkable concept will not come cheap. The lavish super yacht will cost around €400 million, or about $500 million said Lobanov.
