Dark Souls 2: Giant Lord Boss Guide | How to Defeat the Giant Lord (NG+7)

Welcome to Dark Souls 2!

ATTENTION: All my Dark Souls 2 videos are for helping purposes and learning where to find certain items. I do not in any way claim to be good at this game, nor do I think I'm very good. So please steer clear of pointing out flaws in my combat.

This is a boss guide for the Giant Lord, which resides within the Memory of Jeigh.

================================================

Area: Memory of Jeigh(Forest of Fallen Giants)
Location: After Place Unbeknownst bonfire

The Giant Lord resides within the Memory of Jeigh, which is accessed by entering the giant tree right after the Place Unbeknownst bonfire in Forest of Fallen Giants.

The bonfire requires the King's Ring to gain access to while the memory requires the Ashen Mist Heart to enter. The bonfire is reached by going down the ladder by the Cardinal Tower bonfire, over the bridge, through the locked door(Soldier Key) and to the left at the open area.

Giant Lord's move set (move names from Dark Souls 2 wikidot, link below):

● Stomp: The Giant Lord will stomp at you. Has slight tracking, but can easily be avoided. Try to avoid lock-on to make this fight a little bit easier.

● Foot Swipe: The Giant Lord will do a more advanced stomp with a larger range than the normal stomp. Also very easily avoided. Roll away to not get hit.

● Sword Slam: The Giant Lord will slam his sword in the ground. He seems to open with this attack all the time. Dodged by rolling to the side right before the sword hits the ground. Has a slight tracking which will kill you if you roll too early or too late.

● Sword Swing: The Giant Lord will swing his sword. Hugging is left leg/back seemed to avoid the first swing, but if he decide to follow up with a second or even a third stab in the ground, he will hit you. And he hits hard, so better roll just to be Rolling in the same way as the swung his sword seemed to do the trick. As with the sword slam, rolling too early or too late will make him hit you. This is his most dangerous attack and can be very hard to spot in time due to the tight space.

And finally, DO NOT lock onto him at all. The close spacing along with his length makes spotting his attacks very difficult if you lock onto him.

A couple of items I'd recommend is:

- Dark Quartz Ring+2(drop from Leydia Witch in Undead Crypt)
- Flame Quartz Ring+2(drop from Dragons in Dragon Aerie)
- Any combination of armor that creates the highest dark resistance and still gives you a fast roll
