aka Shankar Jaikishan were one of the most sought of music composers of Hindi cinema. For most of their remarkable works they were nicknamed as the golden duo of music. The existence of the pair came into limelight after the movie Aag, which resulted as their biggest ice break. Apart then Barsaat Awaara, Badal, Poonam, Nagina, Aurat, Parbat and many other such hits are still known to be evergreen melodies. Their ground breaking compositions which contained Indian musical with a dash of western music won them several prestigious awards. Its was in the year that industry lost its gem Jaikishan due to cirrhosis of liver and not so later that Shankar lost his life in the year 1987.
