Alexey Navalny Wife, Kids, Siblings, Parents (Family Members)

A widely-known politician and YouTube star Alexey Navalny was born in 1976, in Russia. As a school-boy, he was good at studies and loved sciences and math in particular. After that, he entered Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia to study law. Then he also studied at the financial academy and spent one year at Yale World Fellows.
At the very beginning of his career, nobody really paid attention to him, as he was a lawyer and a top manager. Nonetheless, things changed when he became a member of a Russian party called Yabloko. In 2007 he was expelled from it because of his disagreement with the president's regime. Alexey didn’t give up and in 2011 established an Anti-Corruption Foundation with an aim to fight against fraud, bribes, etc in his home country. All the investigations he made were uploaded on YouTube and of course, many powerful people didn’t like it.
In summer 2020 while flying from Tomsk to Moscow, the politician was poisoned with a chemical weapon. He had spent three months in a German hospital and returned back to Moscow, where he was arrested and jailed for almost three years.
And now, we will share some interesting facts about Navalny’s family life and closest people.

The father’s name is Anatoly and he grew up and studied in Ukraine. Due to his military service, he was sent to Moscow. There, he fell in love, got married and parented two kids with a wife. Having retired, he launched a basket weaving factory business which was quite successful.

The mother Lyudmila worked as an economist. She is a very caring, loving and supportive mother, who believes that one day her son, Alexey will become a President of Russia.

The family also includes a brother Oleg, who was born in 1983. A curious fact: Oleg has never been really interested in politics and used to work at the post as an entrepreneur and a logistician. Together with a brother they founded a transport company Glavpodpiska. Very soon they were accused by Bruno Leproux- a director of Yves Rocher Vostok for overpricing their services. As a result, he was sentenced to 3 years. After the release from prison, he published a book about prison tattoos and even opened an exhibition on that topic. As for his personal life, he is married and has two sons.

As for Navalny’s private life, he has been married to Yulia since 2000 and up till the present moment. The couple met in 1998 during vacation in Turkey. After that they kept dating in Moscow and tied the knot two years later.

The pair shares two children with a daughter Daria being the firstborn, who saw the light in 2001. She attended Leonid Milgram gymnasium and then entered Stanford University. Apart from being a student, she also runs a YouTube channel.

A son Zakhar drew his first breath in 2008. He studied at the same gymnasium as his sister but since September 2020 has been attending a school in Germany.
